I don't know why this should be surprising, given that this came from Ted Cruz. But oddly I never really saw this highlighted in the media. This quip from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the CNBC debate last week was really quite outrageous. Are there no prominent Democrats out there to challenge him on this?
Here's the quip:
CRUZ: Let me be clear. The men and women on this stage have more ideas, more experience, more common sense than every participant in the Democratic debate. That debate reflected a debate between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks.

Wow! Who knew that the being a 2016 Democratic candidate meant that you were for a system of government where it controls everything, there is no free enterprise, and is entirely socialistic. The chutzpah of the man!
No surprise then that he doesn't have a friend in the U.S. Senate.
